Nicole Brill was expected to compete in all five Alpine events in Slovakia. Unfortunately, she isn't in Slovakia. Read the story about Nicole!

The Germantown Gazzette wrote up a short report about USA snowboarder Lauren Benedict and the cancellation of the 2011 Deaflympics.

A local station in the Boston area profiled the parents of a USA hockey player's disappointment on the cancellation of the Deaflympics. (This is a YouTube video with no captions.) There is another video of Ken and Karen Wonoski.

Miles Gates and Bo Ruef both had earned bronze at the hockey World Championships in Canada two years ago. Now they will have to wait four more years to aim for gold in 2015.

For Team Canada, the cancellation of the Slovakia Deaflympics devastated the deaf sporting community for our neighbors to the north.

It's always been about the slopes for Austin Nelson.. Nelson is a member of the USA Alpine skiing team going to Vysoke Tatry, Slovakia.

Lauren Benedict has continued the family tradition. Dad Dwight was a ski Team Leader for many years. Sister Rachel is the assistant to the Team Director for the 2011 Team. Lauren is one of our snowboarders.
